SERDANG, 4 May - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) strengthened its global presence through participation in the Global Education Conclave 2026 held in India from 26 to 28 March.

Representing UPM, PLC. Gs. Ts. Dr. Mohammad Mujaheed Hassan served as a panelist in the session titled “Leadership in the EduVerse: Reimagining the Role of Academic Visionaries”, alongside international experts discussing the evolving landscape of academic leadership in a digitally integrated global education ecosystem.

He highlighted the concept of the EduVerse as an interconnected higher education system, underlining the importance of strategic international networks, digital integration and sustainable partnerships in shaping future-ready graduates.

“The EduVerse reflects the need for universities to operate within a globally connected system supported by strong partnerships and digital integration,” he said.

He added that UPM continues to prioritise international mobility, interdisciplinary collaboration and leadership development in line with global sustainability goals.

“Our focus remains on preparing graduates to meet global challenges through collaboration and mobility,” he said.

A key highlight of UPM’s participation was the formalisation of a strategic collaboration with Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC University), aimed at enhancing academic cooperation between both institutions.

The collaboration is expected to facilitate student mobility initiatives, joint academic programmes and knowledge exchange, further strengthening UPM’s global partnership network.

The conclave also served as a platform for UPM to expand its international network, explore new academic collaborations and showcase its commitment to global engagement.

Throughout the programme, UPM engaged with various international institutions, opening avenues for future collaborations, particularly in short-term mobility programmes, academic exchanges and joint research initiatives.

UPM’s participation reflects its continuous efforts to advance its internationalisation agenda and reinforce its position as a globally connected institution.
