1. Main Channel (Through the UPUOnline System)
Applications for admission to UPM's undergraduate programs, including Diploma and Foundation in Science programs, are made through the UPUOnline system managed by the IPTA Student Admission Division (BKPA) under the Ministry of Higher Education. Here is general information about the Diploma and Foundation in Science programs offered at UPM, including the program list, general requirements, and tuition fees.
2. Inclusive Channel (Direct Application to UPM)
Inclusive Channel provides an opportunity for candidates who have excellent academic qualifications but did not receive offers for their preferred programs through UPU applications to pursue their chosen field of study. Direct admission through Inclusive Channel is opened for the admission to Foundation in Science and 81 Bachelor programmes offered by UPM. Programmes offered through the Inclusive Channel are implemented on a full-fee basis without subsidies.

2. Alternative Channel (Applying Directly to UPM)
Alternative channels provide an opportunity for candidates who have excellent academic qualifications but did not receive offers for their preferred programs through UPU applications to pursue their chosen field of study. Admissions through alternative channels are open for the Foundation in Science program at UPM. Click the link below for program information and the application portal for admission through alternative channels to the Foundation in Science program at Universiti Putra Malaysia. Programs offered through the alternative channels are implemented on a full-fee basis without subsidies.
3. Distance Learning
UPM also offers Distance Learning programs to enable working students and those facing difficulties in attending campus-based classes, similar to full-time students. At present, UPM offers 7 bachelor's programs under the Distance Learning mode, which are:
- Bachelor of Agricultural Science;
- Bachelor of Science (Human Resource Development) (BSHRD);
- Bachelor of Science (Human Development) (BSPM);
- Bachelor of Communication (BCOMM);
- Bachelor of Arts in Malay Language and Linguistics (BABM);
- Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BABE); and
- Bachelor of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language (BPTESL)
This program places a strong emphasis on self-guided learning, providing a flexible approach that accommodates working individuals looking to advance their education. Consequently, various supportive learning methods are in place, including the provision of downloadable learning modules on the PutraODL portal for students to use as valuable reference materials.
